“By the time we got there, it was already a well-established fire,” On Friday March 28, 2008 this former Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad depot was destroyed by fire. The station built in 1901 was 107 years old. The station which is located in Marlinton, WV housed the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau. It was a city Icon. on October 9, 2008We were at Marlinton and also visited Cass this past June. Unfortunately it seems there have been several fires related to railroads over the years, especially at Cass.
